Moving to a new country to practice nursing in an unfamiliar healthcare system comes with many challenges, opportunities, and barriers. Many internationally educated nurses feel isolated as they navigate a new healthcare system, workplace culture, and professional community.
Hosted by BCNU’s IEN Committee and the Mosaic of Colour Caucus, this community dinner and evening of storytelling is a safe and welcoming space for IENs to find community, build connections and feel supported by others who share your journey. There will also be opportunities to engage in thoughtful reflection, art, and discussion!
During the event, you will hear from other IENs about their journeys, challenges, successes and lessons learned while building their careers in Canada. The evening will include presentations by BCNU staff and representatives sharing opportunities to learn about the union, your workplace rights and the resources and support available to you.
This event will be held in hybrid format.
The event is open to all members, and students who are internationally educated.
The event is not salary replaced.
Members must first register and receive confirmation of acceptance to the event.
